Stratford Festival is putting on The Who's TOMMY this year during their 2013 season which is pretty cool. If yer not in the know, Tommy is a "Rock Opera" based on The Who's Pinball Wizard. It is also a pinball machine by DATA EAST! (who also made Star Wars!)
This is a Tommy machine from The Church of The Silver Ball in Mississauga. It's also signed by Pete Townshend!

Stratford Festival is doing something really friggin' cool to promote their production of TOMMY...

PINBALLAPALOOZA (that's a mouthful!) on THURSDAY, MAY 16TH! That's next week, geeze! I only heard about this recently. I'm super excited but also super bummed because since I found out so late, I missed out on the application for being a part of The Guiness World Record attempt. At the event, which will be from 9 AM to 6 PM, they will be making an attempt to have the most people simultaneously playing pinball. They definitely need a PINBALL LEGEND like myself playing! They could use a high score setter in their ranks...

Yeah, this event could use some MUF! I just put this score up last weekend at Leisure Lanes in Oshawa on their Sopranos machine. There was also another strange name on the Avatar machine that has replaced Leisure Lanes' veteran, Iron Man...

This guy is a TORONTO LEGEND. DOH used to hang out at The Pinball Cafe and he was a champ. Legit!
He was, I believe, 2009 Canadian Pinball Champion and was awarded Stern's NBA for his accomplishment. Anyways, he had a bunch of high scores on the machines that came through The Cafe and they were nigh impossible to beat. I mean, look at this one on Avatar. I checked the next highest score on the table and DOH easily cleared it with twice as many points.

BUT I DIGRESS... Pinballapalooza. It's shaping up to be a really cool event. Toronto hasn't seen the likes of a big pinball event in ages so I'm really excited about this. According to the event, there will be 100 machines available for free play. TOO SWEET!

RSVP here on the Facebook page and come out on Thursday, May 16th, for Pinballapalooza! Also, go like Stratford Festival's page because they're an awesome group of folks for putting this on! Show some love!
