Mustang Leak

Sorry but this is not a post to discuss how to fix a leak in yer Mustang so I apologize to all you fellas out there with car problems. NO, I'm here to let you all in on a little news that came out this past weekend.

Stern brought an early prototype of their upcoming release, Ford Mustang, to the NADA Convention in New Orleans this past weekend. A few individuals with the benefits of motion photography were able to capture some footage of this rare beast, THE MUSTANG


I'm not one to speculate much, especially on a video such as this one but the first thought that came to mind is that the art package is going with the standard Stern Photoshop look. That's a damn shame because I was under the impression that Camilo Pardo was going to be the art designer. We'll have to see what Stern has in store.

There is also what people are claiming to be another Wal-Mart toy in the form of the mustang model on the playfield. I understand the gripe when it comes to toys like the ones on X-Men but why build a custom mold and stuff for a car model when you can get some pretty dang good ones at Wal-Mart? Something else I'm thinking is... What if the cars are made to be interchangeable? The table pays tribute to all eras of Mustangs so what if you can switch out the default 'Stang for the model you like the most? That would be pretty neat!

Here's some SECRET NEWS! Ford posted a page for the pinball machine which was taken down soon after but not before many pinheads got a hold of the info. Here's what is rumoured to be included in the table.

- Players will experience the thrill of building an amazing collection of the most desirable Mustangs; including GT's, Mach 1's, Cobras, Boss Mustangs and the 2015 Mustang.
- Take your Mustangs racing against an array of colorful game characters in 8 different racing scenarios including drifting, drag racing, road races, rallies and police pursuits.
- Take down the "SHIFT" drop targets to shift your way up thru the gears into "GEARS" Multiball.
- Shoot around the playfield to earn Ford Racing parts and customize, modify and tune your Mustangs!
- Advance thru the challenge ladder in order to race in the Silverball Stampede; an all-out coast to coast run against all of the wacky opponents in the game.
- Features the voice of racing car driver and television host Tanner Foust.
- Five decades of music to select from by artists like: Motorhead, Jan & Dean, The Romantics and more.
- Artwork created by GT designer Camilo Pardo.
Special Features:
- "4 Barrel" action pop bumpers.
- Twin Stacked Supercharger ramps.
- "Donut Time" captive ball shot.
- M U S T A N G logo spell out feature indicates game progress.
- 1/24th scale decorative Mustang.
- "Mystery Ford" feature allows players to enhance their car collection with iconic cars from throughout the history of the brand.

Sounds like there's going to be some pretty crazy stuff going on on more than just the playfield. Again, I don't want to speculate too much but I wonder if there's going to be more emphasis on video modes, what with the racing scenarios and customizing your Mustang. Here's hoping that the game ships with completed code for once.
